I Have a Friend
While we almost always agree
About the things of every day,
Differences between you and me
Will never change our right to say.
Joyful times are better shared
With one you know so well;
Tearful times with one who’s cared
Help us through the hell.
I have friends. Lucky me.
It works both ways—lucky them.
No matter what times we’ll see,
A friend is precious, like a gem.
