Constantly feeling exhausted for no medically discernable reason may mean it’s time to get your hearing tested.
When researchers looked at data on 3,031 adults aged 40 or older who had participated in the 2015–2018 (US) National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, feeling fatigued almost every day for two weeks was almost twice as common among participants with hearing loss as it was among those with normal hearing: 12.7% as opposed to 7%.
People with impaired hearing must expend extra energy listening, which may lead to physical fatigue.
