Older and wiser? Maybe. Older and happier, yes!

It’s easy to assume that young people are happier than seniors, who have to deal with the aches and pains of age and the financial stress of having to stretch that pension. Well, research has shown the opposite to be true.
Previous research into happiness and age has tended to show that we reach peak happiness in mid-life and it’s downhill from there.
However, a study of 1,546 people aged 21 to 100 showed that older people had lower levels of depression, anxiety, and stress, and higher levels of happiness, satisfaction, and well being, than those in their 20s.
The study was conducted by the Stein Institute for Research on Aging, which is part of the University of California San Diego.
