There’s nothing like a touch of blush to perk up pale skin and give it a healthy glow
What texture should you choose?
Because mature skin tends to be dry or dehydrated (or sometimes both), experts often recommend opting for moisturizing formulas rather than long-lasting powdered blush, which can settle into fine lines. You can also go for slightly pearly—not glittery!—products that subtly reflect light for a guaranteed healthy glow.
How do you pick the right shade?
Pink, apricot, or copper? Beauty shelves carry so many options that it can be hard to know what you need. The shade that best matches your complexion depends on your skin’s undertones. To figure this out, look at the veins on your wrist. Are they bluish? Pink shades are for you. Are they more green? Peach will work beautifully. Enhance a darker complexion with fuchsia, eggplant, or orange brick.
What’s the best technique for getting a lifting effect?
To create the illusion of lifted features, apply the blush to your cheekbone starting below the centre of the eye’s iris and swooping up to the top of the ear. You can also blend it in more by going up to the eyebrow. A good trick: for better control over the amount of cream blush you use, put some product on the back of your hand before patting it on your cheek with your fingertips and blending it in.
