Heart Patients Value Virtual Care

By Wendy Haaf

In an April 2021 online survey of more than 3,000 Canadians with cardiovascular disease (heart disease, stroke, or vascular cognitive impairment) and caregivers, more than half said that they want to continue to have the option of virtual appointments post-COVID.

Other key findings:

• Eight in 10 respondents said that they had participated in a virtual appointment.

• Eight in 10 said that virtual appointments were convenient and that they were able to get their questions answered.

• Nine in 10 said that they had no privacy concerns.

For tips on getting the most out of your next virtual doctor’s visit, go to heartandstroke.ca and search for “virtual appointment.”
