Treasures
Treasures can be old coins and paper money,
Black-and-white photos from our youth (so funny!),
A wispy lock of baby hair,
An old much-cuddled teddy bear,
A turquoise bowl favoured by Mother,
A smelly pipe reminiscent of Father,
Beloved books, handed-down recipes,
Initials lovingly carved in trees…
But everyone in the world will agree:
The best treasures are friends and family.
