Just under three-quarters of Canadians—74%—actually lose sleep worrying about their financial situation, according to an Ipsos poll conducted for RBC Insurance.

What else is keeping us awake? According to the survey, which polled 1,001 Canadians between the ages of 25 and 50 online, 72% are concerned about their health and well-being, and just over half (58%) said they worry about their family’s future if they were no longer around and weren’t able to provide for them.

This last worry, RBC Insurance points out, isn’t helped by the fact that almost four in 10 Canadians don’t have life insurance, which means that they aren’t sure whether their family would be financially stable if something were to happen to them. According to the poll results, those with life insurance were more likely to be optimistic about whether their family would be able afford such things as housing costs—in this area, 54% of those without insurance were confident all would be well, versus 71% of those with life insurance.
